Darcy Jouan
Darcy Jouan is President of Slam Internet where he oversees the production of interactive original online content for numerous clients from entertainment & media, to technology & telecom, and beyond.
Jouan is responsible for carrying out Slam’s Total Engagement Experience, a new business and creative model for television, which uses the television show as a component of a broader multiplatform entertainment experience that includes the Internet, publishing, music, mobile, DVD’s, video games and more, establishing an infinity loop driving ratings and increasing revenue streams. He has successfully carried out the Total Engagement Experience on the CBS hit show “Ghost Whisperer” which is now nearing the end of its fifth season.
Jouan is currently producing online content for ABC Domestic Television shows “Legend of the Seeker,” and “LIVE! Regis & Kelly,” and will be overseeing the interactive production of the award-winning web series “GHOST WHISPERER: THE OTHER SIDE IV.” Most recently he oversaw the production of interactive online content for the WETV and Syfy Networks. Jouan’s other online content producing experience includes MGM’s Stargate destination website which was part of the launch of the new Stargate Universe series.
Before Jouan began his career in entertainment he was a principal engineer and founding member of Silicon Valley start-up Catapulse, a company that built internet based software development tools. The company was purchased by Rational Software, Inc. in 2002 for $400M based on multiple products designed and built by Jouan and his team.
Rational Software then offered Jouan a bigger role in their Internet Products Group as lead architect and principal engineer, which quickly morphed into Chief Architect for Rational. Rational was later acquired by IBM for $2 billion dollars. Prior to working in start-ups, Jouan worked as a technical consultant for large companies such as Ford Motor Company, and AT&T, where he oversaw and built their multi-million dollar core sales interface system. In addition, he had a stint at Netscape, where he led the development of the RFP module for their Ecommerce product.
Jouan is married to Christina Davis, and they have one dog.
