CFTPA National Mentorship Program Now Accepting Applications for Youth Internship

Ottawa – The Canadian Film and Television Production Association (CFTPA) is proud to announce the launch of the National Production Program for 2008-2009. This latest edition of the program will offer twenty placements across Canada for young Canadians between the ages of 15-30 years.

Funded by the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment Strategy, the National Production Program offers meaningful work experience in the film, television and interactive media production industry. The program enables participants to develop skills, gain exposure and contacts, and make a successful integration into the labour market. The program is an exciting opportunity for companies to contribute to their industry by sharing valuable knowledge and expertise, and providing youth the opportunity to develop life and employment skills through hands-on experience.

“This program is instrumental in providing a bridge between formal education and the labour force,” said Susanne Vaas, VP of Business Affairs, CFTPA. “We appreciate the Government of Canada’s support in helping young producers acquire invaluable practical experience for building their career. Programs such as these contribute to the continued growth and long term viability of the production industry.”

The CFTPA is a non-profit trade organization that works on behalf of almost 400 companies engaged in the production and distribution of English-language television programs, feature films, and interactive media productions in all regions of Canada.
