The Canadian Film and Television Production Association (CFTPA) is pleased to announce the successful candidates to its Citytv Cultural Diversity Mentorship Program.
“It is very important for the CFTPA to administer regional mentorship programs that respond to the specific needs of our producers as well as the training needs of emerging filmmakers in Alberta and Manitoba,” said Susanne Vaas, VP of Business Affairs, CFTPA. “We are excited about this partnership with Rogers Media and look forward to another year of successes with the program .’’
Funded by Rogers Media, the program gives four producers from Alberta and Manitoba with ethnocultural, visible minority or aboriginal backgrounds the opportunity to work closely with established producers for a minimum of 30 weeks. They are provided with on the job training designed to foster knowledge and practical skills development in film, television and interactive media. The program emphasizes hands-on involvement in producing, enhancing administrative and technical skills, creating networking opportunities and providing the interns with a solid understanding of the production sector.
