CFTPA Announces Telefilm Producer Trainee Program Award Recipients
July 7, 2008
Ottawa - The Canadian Film and Television Production Association (CFTPA) is pleased to announce the successful candidates to its Telefilm Producer Trainee Program. Funded by Telefilm Canada, the program gives members of visible minority groups and people of aboriginal descent the opportunity to gain above-the-line production experience. The program emphasizes one-on-one mentoring in a production environment, creating enhanced professional development opportunities for emerging and mid-level professionals. Their on-the-job training creates employment prospects, gives participants production credits, solidifies their skills, and allows them to compete for mid-level positions in the sector.
“Proving opportunities to talented producers who may be facing barriers in taking their careers to the next level is key for the CFTPA.” said Susanne Vaas, VP of Business Affairs, CFTPA. “We are delighted with the continued success of our partnership with Telefilm in offering this program, and look forward to another successful program year .’’
