CFTPA appoints Director of Member Services & Outreach

CFTPA President & CEO, Guy Mayson is pleased to announce the appointment of Barbara Whitmer to the position of Director of Member Services & Outreach. Ms. Whitmer will be responsible for all member services and member inquires at the CFTPA. Working closely with the Member Services Committee, Ms. Whitmer will manage and implement existing services as well as develop and launch new member services initiatives that are consistent with the CFTPA’s strategic goals and priorities.

Ms. Whitmer has extensive experience working to develop and enhance membership and member service for respected organizations such as: the Ottawa International Jazz Festival, the Sierra Club of Canada and The Hospital for Sick Children Foundation. Well known for her operational, membership marketing, sponsorship and event management skills, Ms. Whitmer brings a tremendous amount of expertise to the CFTPA and its members.

“Barbara brings with her the skills and experience that we’re looking for to deliver on our commitment to serve our members, and fulfill our mandate as a member driven organization”, said President and CEO, Guy Mayson.

Ms. Whitmer will begin her tenure with the CFTPA on May 15, 2006 and will report to Claude Lemieux, Vice-President, Communications and Member Services.

Ms. Whitmer holds a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto.

The CFTPA is a non-profit, trade association representing almost 400 companies in the Canadian production industry. The association promotes the general interests of Canadian producers by working with government on policy matters, negotiating labour agreements, and offering mentorship programs and copyright initiatives.
