CFTPA appoints Director of National Mentorship Program

CFTPA President & CEO, Guy Mayson is pleased to announce the appointment of Susan Stranks to the position of Director of the National Mentorship Program. Ms. Stranks will be responsible for the management and daily operations of all the CFTPA’s mentorship programs. In addition to daily operations, Ms. Stranks will be tasked with the development and implementation of new program proposals that are consistent with the CFTPA’s strategic goals and priorities.

Ms. Stranks is a multi-award-winning producer, program manager and teacher whose outstanding broadcast credits include, On The Road Again, Kids In The Hall, Canada Day and Anne Murray’s What A Wonderful World. Well known in the production community and a sitting member of the Television Advisory Committee and the Documentary Production Committee at Algonquin College, Ms Stranks brings a wealth of experience and broad knowledge of Canadian production industry to the CFTPA.

Ms. Stranks will begin her tenure with the CFTPA on May 8, 2006 and will be reporting to Claude Lemieux, Vice-President, Communications and Member Services.

The CFTPA is a non-profit, trade association representing almost 400 companies in the Canadian production industry. The association promotes the general interests of Canadian producers by lobbying government on policy matters, negotiating labour agreements, and offering mentorship programs and copyright initiatives.
