CFTPA appoints Senior Director, Broadcast Relations & Research
CFTPA President & CEO, Guy Mayson is pleased to announce the appointment of Mario Mota to the position of Senior Director, Broadcast Relations and Research. Mr. Mota will be responsible for the development and implementation of the CFTPA policy and research plan for all CFTPA broadcast relations activities.
Mota brings a wealth of experience and broad knowledge of the Canadian communications industries to the CFTPA, with particular expertise in the media and broadcasting sectors. Most recently, Mota held the position of Vice-President, Broadcast/Media Research at Decima Research. Prior to that, he served as Director of Policy and Regulatory Affairs at the Specialty and Premium Television Association (SPTV), moving to the Canadian Association of Broadcasters (CAB) where he assumed the position of Director of Specialty and Pay Television Policy. Mota’s views on trends in the communications market are often sought by media, including ROBTv, CBC Television, the Globe and Mail, the Financial Post, Playback, Media in Canada, Cablecaster, Broadcaster and Canadian Communications Reports.

Mota will begin his tenure with the CFTPA on April 10, 2006 and will be reporting to Susanne Vaas, Vice-President, Business Affairs.
The CFTPA is a non-profit, trade association representing almost 400 companies in the Canadian production industry. The association promotes the general interests of Canadian producers by lobbying government on policy matters, negotiating labour agreements, and offering mentorship programs and copyright initiatives.
