CFTPA Congratulates Stursberg on Appointment as Executive Vice-President for CBC English Television

“We want to extend our sincere congratulations to Richard Stursberg on his appointment as Executive Vice-President for English Television at CBC,” said Guy Mayson, CEO of the CFTPA. “We know Richard will bring the same drive, enthusiasm and perspective to his new duties as he did to Telefilm Canada.”

Richard Stursberg has worked in the federal government in many senior positions, and has extensive experience in the private sector as well. While Executive Director of Telefilm, Mr. Stursberg made a number of important changes to the programs and objectives of the organization.

“Mr. Stursberg brings a wealth of experience to this important position,” said Laszlo Barna, Chair of the CFTPA. “ He was a real doer when he was at Telefilm and always showed a very open attitude to the concerns of independent producers. We know he will bring that same perspective with him in his work at the CBC and we wish him every success. We are also looking forward to working with the new Executive Director when the appointment is made”.

The CFTPA is a non-profit, trade association representing almost 400 Canadian companies involved in the media content production industry. With offices in Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver, the association promotes the interests of media content producers by lobbying government on policy matters, negotiating labour agreements, offering mentorship programs, copyright initiatives, and producing industry publications.
