NFB Mediamakers Mentorship Program
The NFB MediaMakers Mentorship Program offers on-the-job training opportunities in the film, television and interactive media industry to Canadians with disabilities. Administered by the CFTPA National Mentorship Program, the program enables trainees to develop their production skills and increase their potential for career advancement in the independent production sector. Mentoring is provided by independent production companies which are in development or co-production arrangements with the NFB.
The National Film Board of Canada produces and distributes socially engaged animation, documentaries and digital content that generate a dialogue on vital issues and make a positive difference in people’s lives. Since its founding in 1939, the NFB has created over 12,000 productions and won over 5000 awards. The NFB is renowned for its technical innovations and is a leader in content for new platforms. The NFB is committed to working with and supporting Canada’s new and emerging filmmakers – and to serving as a laboratory for new developments in filmmaking. As Canada’s public producer and distributor, the NFB seeks out and develops emerging filmmakers in every region of the country. Today, new directors account for fully one-half of all NFB productions and co-productions.
