
National Production Program
Funded by the Government of Canada’s Career Focus Program, the National Production Program offers young people meaningful work experience in the film, television and interactive media production industry. The program enables participants to develop skills, gain exposure and contacts, and make a successful integration into the labour market.
The program is an exciting opportunity for companies to contribute to their industry by sharing valuable knowledge and expertise by providing youth the opportunity to develop life and employment skills through hands-on experience. At the same time, the program offers companies a cost-effective way to hire bright new talent.
Technical Internship Program:
Working with a department head in a technical field, participants will learn and be exposed to a variety of functions from camera, sound, lighting and editing, both in-house and on location.
Administrative/Management Internship Program:
Working with production management personnel, the participant’s focus will be on above-the-line production skills including development, production management, business affairs, communications and marketing.

Duration of Placement: 26 weeks
Intern Stipend: $14,000 (minimum);
$10,000 from the Program and minimum $4,000 from mentor
Age: 15 - 30
Candidates' chances for success are higher if they apply with a CFTPA mentor company.
Successful unmatched mentors will work with the NMP team to find an appropriate intern candidate. Matched candidates should submit a joint application.
