Multiculturalism Producer Trainee Program
The Multiculturalism Producer Trainee Program offers Anglophone visible minority producers from Quebec the opportunity to gain work experience in the Canadian film and television production industry. Funded by Canadian Heritage, the Program provides on-the-job training and professional development opportunities to mid-level producers who represent Quebec’s visible and linguistic minorities. This program will ensure the trainees’ exposure to the film, television and interactive media sector, give them the opportunity to pitch their own ideas to their mentors and/or other independent producers, provide them with marketable and portable skills and give them access to a contact network to enable them to move their own projects forward, thereby increasing the representation of Anglophone and visible minority producers in Quebec.
Canadian Heritage is responsible for national policies and programs that promote Canadian content, foster cultural participation, active citizenship and participation in Canada's civic life, and strengthen connections among Canadians. By fostering the Multiculturalism policy goals of identity, civic participation and social justice, the Government encourages participation by all citizens in building and shaping a cohesive and inclusive Canadian society.
